In a bid to bridge the trust deficit between the South Asian neighbours, Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi-Jinping will hold a first of its kind “informal summit” on Friday in Wuhan city of China’s Hubei province.
Modi, who landed in Wuhan past midnight on Thursday, will hold a series of informal one-on-one meeting with Jinping in Hubei provincial museum. Both leaders will also take a tour to the museum.
Later, Modi and Xi will hold rounds of delegation level talks with six officials on each side. The Prime Minister will once again meet Jinping for a dinner hosted by the Chinese leader at the East Lake Guest House in central Wuhan.
On Saturday, there will more meetings between Modi and Xi with just interpreters of Hindi and Chinese languages accompanying them. Both leaders will have a walk along the banks of a lake and take a boat ride together to herald a new chapter in Indo-Sino relations.
